Hi, I’ve searched for any info on the small knife sharpener! , I was hopeing to sharpen small carving knives but haven’t found anyone doing that .please tell me if you know anything about it.I’m quite invested and was hoping I didn’t jump the gun and it really doesn’t work. I have the large knife sharpener.thanks

Sorry I don't use either knife sharpener, but I would have thought the large one would work for carving knives and the small one for veg knives etc.

Have to add that this forum is very quiet these days, you may get better feedback from the facebook page where more users may be available to share experiences. www.facebook.com/RobertSorbySheffield

Tormek sell jigs for sharpening knives of almost any size. You may need to somehow retrofit a 12mm support bar to your machine. This should not be too difficult. The Tormek jigs are not cheap but you may be able to copy the concept and make your own. This is a good source of information about Tormek jigs: forum.tormek.com/

I’m not sure if they’re any good for small knives though like the Tormek jig?

Had a similar question on smaller knives and wrote to Sorby and it is something they are working on. Here is what they sent me,
Thank you for your enquiry On a pro edge with knife accessories I am having a problem with the knife holder touching the belt before the knife apex touches. Specifically I am trying to sharpen mora knifes with a scandi grind. The blade with is approx 20mm. About 109mm long. Do you have any suggestions? The knife sharpening jig and holders were originally designed for kitchen and hunting style knives with a slightly deeper section blade than those on the Mora type knives We are currently looking at a jig / adaption to the system for this type of miniature blades Please keep an eye on our website for new additons Regards Clive -- Clive Brooks Product Manager and Global Sales Manager T:+44 (0)114 225 0700
