Hi, new to the forum and purchased the Pro Edge a couple of months ago.
Its used mainly for sharpening chisels and for the life of me I can't get it to square, I have both the square guide and the chisel jig. I had a particular chisel that needed sharpening as a test and I just can't get it square at all, its very frustrating, can anyone suggest what I should check to get this working as I am getting to the point of giving up and selling it.
Thanks in advance
Mark

Not sure what you mean by the chisel jig and the square guide, there is only one that I am aware of Robert Sorby Pro Edge Square Chisel Jig which is a rectangle square that slides in the slot in the table, and should present the tool at 90° to the belt. Sorry but I don't use mine for anything but woodturning tools so I don't have that jig to test with, but some time with a good engineer's square seems to be called for to ensure that everything is lined up properly with the square held against the belt is it in perfect alignment with the edge of the square chisel jig? If not get a photo.
From sharpening woodturning tools I know I don't use the skew jig I just line it up by eye and use a square to draw a pencil mark either side of the belt to give me the sharpening guide I use. Less pressure may help it needs less than you may think. Please come back if these small tips don't help or if there is a problem with the square jig alignment.

I much prefer the look of the Axminster chisel jig. Not cheap though. I made my own jig for skew chisels which when turned over should be ok for ordinary chisels but I’ve not tried it yet.
