Not sure if this forum is being used. Anyhoo the two images show a piece of Tulip Wood. I’d sanded to 400 but couldn’t get rid of marks. Tried tung oil to reduce the effect but didn’t work. So turned top edge of bowl again to take image. I’ve not used colour before but think this may hide the marks. Not sure if the wood type is right to take colour. Any pointers appreciated or suggestions. No. 1 wife says to leave it as it’s a natural effect. Kind Regards Attachments:

Well your wife could be right, colour is a thing that can enhance or destroy!
Have you considered charring it with a blow lamp? That can be a good effect with the inside clean polished wood.
I personally would choose a translucent colour for all wood, the grain is too important to lose! But the mark would show through so defeating the object.
Having said that, it is a bowl, you can make another, and experimenting is fun... you can always wand it off again.
