Greetings from Melbourne, Australia. I trust all are well during these challenging times. I have just purchased a Robert Sorby 3mm Bead Forming Tool and am itching to try it out. Before putting it to work I am wondering what is the preferred method to sharpen the tool. I have spent some time on the Internet last night but there seem to be some conflicting approaches to sharpening similar tools. Can you please steer a novice in the right direction?

Hi Bruce
The tool cuts very little amounts of timber so needs very little sharpening, I do mine with a diamond file (diamond card actually) across the top of the tool, this just refreshes the cutting edge.

Thanks so much for this Pete - greatly appreciated. I look forward to learning how to use the tool effectively and know that I won't destroy it with incorrect honing.
