Hi - I have been using the turnmaster tool for a few months now and as with others experience, after a difficult start it clicked and I'm now really pleased with the tool and the finish I get with it.
I have recently picked up the RSTM-TH tip holder for sharpening. I have the pro edge plus system and thought I could give the tips a quick sharpen on the belt using the holder.
It is probably me but I'm struggling to see how this works? You screw the tip to the holder and then have a protruding screw head to deal with. Is there a video to demo how this works?
Apologies if this is the "dumb question of the week / month" but I'm fairly new to this and I am struggling to see how this helps over and above simply sharpening the tip by hand on a diamond hone?
Many thanks.

Hi westonturner1965...The TurnMaster cutters can be sharpened in two different ways...Across the top face using a honing stone or diamond file as you have mentioned it your post. The other way is using the sharpening jig and a fine belt on the ProEdge. The sharpening jig holds the cutter so that you can sharpen the profile face rather that the top face. This is particularly useful if you have been using the tool on very hard or abrasive wood or for an extended period without sharpening in between.... I hope this helps

Many thanks Clive. Had only seen people sharpening the top face so makes sense now. Appreciate it adds to cost but a small instruction sheet in the plastic wallet it's supplied in may help.

I use the honing method, but the square and the diamond shape are not sharp enough, at my taste. But I have a Tormek kniveholder KJ 45 and that device holds the diamond and square perfectly. Just lilt them slightly to get the 80’ position and the Tormekwheel makes the edges really sharp.
