Hi, I'm new to the lathe. I bought the set of eight gouges by Robert Sorby. Where can I get the information of the angles to grind the different gouges?

What tool are you using to sharpen them? do you have sharpening jigs?
as a general rule of thumb to maintain the current grind put some ink from a marker pen on the bevel, adjust the angle of presentation to the sharpening tool until it removes a line of ink evenly from bottom to top and that is the angle you need. I have sharpening jigs for my bowl and spindle gouges that have a "recipe" to repeat the grind. but still use the marker pen method for many other grinds.

Hi jamoreno01...Thank you for your question...As always Petes advice is excellent...for the actual bevel angles please go to the Robert Sorby website and on page 47 of our current catalogue you will see the angles of all the standard turning tools you have in your 8 piece set. If you have any more specific questions please do not hesitate to email Robert Sorby sales office directly where I will be able to answer you personally
